Dental X-rays are generally considered safe during pregnancy when appropriate precautions are used. The radiation from dental imaging is extremely low and protective shielding is available. In many cases routine imaging can be postponed unless there is an urgent dental concern. At Newman Dental we discuss imaging decisions carefully with patients who are pregnant.
