Canker sores are common ulcers that can appear on the inside of the cheeks, lips, or tongue. Although they usually heal on their own within one to two weeks, they can be painful while eating or speaking. At Newman Dental we evaluate the sore to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other conditions. In some cases we may treat the area with a soft tissue laser to reduce discomfort and promote faster healing. If sores occur frequently, we can also help identify possible triggers.
